Conversion data control

Detect what’s missing and what changed in your conversion data before you decide

TraceLog records your conversions and the steps before them independently of GA4, and checks every day that they still arrive. It alerts you when one stops.

Free up to 10,000 sessions a month. No card, no sales call.

A stable total can hide a missing step

Your site keeps working while part of the measurement stops.

  1. 1

    A site update changes checkout

    A declared step stops arriving.

  2. 2

    One segment stops arriving

One channel, campaign or device stops sending events.

  3. 3

    Total still looks stable

The overall rate can hide the incomplete segment.

Define, verify, watch

  1. 1

    Define what should arrive

Name each conversion and the steps before it.

  2. 2

    Verify the installation

Add TraceLog's snippet (for Shopify or WooCommerce, write to us for now) and complete the path once; a mismatch says what to check.

  3. 3

    TraceLog watches it every day

An alert names the days a step stopped arriving.

What you get

Free

Incomplete days, named instead of counted

When a step stops arriving, TraceLog hides the figures that count it over those days and names the days instead.

TraceLog did not receive checkout_started from Wed Jan 14 to Fri Jan 16. The path breaks at that step, so its row and every row after it are not shown for any period that includes those days; the conversion's own rate still stands. Narrow the period to exclude them.

Which segment fell

With enough traffic, TraceLog names the conversion, step or segment that fell — never why.

Your purchase_completed rate fell in one segment — Channel: Paid social — 31 fewer sessions reached purchase_completed than the baseline rate would have produced over 3,140 sessions.

Evaluated, Jan 5, 2026 – Jan 11, 2026

What you changed, and what came after

Record what you changed on an alert. TraceLog puts what it observed afterwards beside it; the order alone proves no cause.

What happened, in order

  1. TraceLog detected this

    Jan 15, 2026, 2:10 AM

  2. You recorded an action

    Jan 16, 2026, 10:24 AM · Fixed the code

  3. The event arrived again, after your action

    Jan 17, 2026, 9:02 AM

TraceLog observed this after the recorded action. That timing does not establish that the action caused it.

What TraceLog does, and what it does not

  • Checks every declared conversion path once a day.
  • Names which of its own figures are left incomplete.
  • Says so separately when the fault is TraceLog's own.
  • Reads no GA4, Meta or Google Ads account.
  • Infers no cause and prescribes no fix: what you change is your decision.
  • Never samples, and never stops capturing at a limit.

Questions

How do I install it?

With a snippet on your site. For Shopify or WooCommerce, write to us: the app and plugin are not in their directories yet. TraceLog never asks for analytics or ad-account logins.

Does TraceLog replace GA4?

No. TraceLog runs alongside GA4, Meta and Google Ads as an independent control. It does not inspect, repair or reconcile their data. It does tell you how many conversions reached it from the server alone and not from the browser. You see it on Shopify, on WooCommerce, or when your server confirms the conversion.

How much traffic do I need?

The free plan is enough to know whether your TraceLog figures are missing data. On a paid plan, detecting a fall takes 1,000 sessions in the week it compares and five weeks of data. A single channel or campaign needs more. Below that, TraceLog stays quiet rather than guessing.

What happens if I go over 10,000 sessions?

TraceLog keeps capturing the declared conversion path without sampling. At the limit, alerts, answers and the explorer pause.

Does TraceLog use cookies? Where does the data live?

The capture code sets no tracking cookie. After consent, one session identifier lives in the visitor's browser storage. This site sets one cookie, only to remember your language. Conversion data lives in the EU.
