Conversion data control

Detect what’s missing and what changed in your conversion data before you decide

A step that stops being recorded can look like your business changed. TraceLog records your conversions independently of GA4, checks their steps every day and alerts you if one stops arriving.

A stable total can hide a missing step

If a step goes missing, TraceLog names which of its own figures are incomplete, to weigh when comparing periods or reporting to a client.

  1. 1

    A site update changes checkout

The theme, a plugin or the platform changed; nobody touched analytics.

  2. 2

    One segment stops being recorded

Conversions from one channel, campaign or device stop arriving.

  3. 3

    Total still looks stable

The overall rate can hide the incomplete segment.

Declare it once and TraceLog checks it every day

  1. 1

    Define what should arrive

Name each conversion and the steps before it.

  2. 2

    Verify the installation

Add TraceLog's snippet and complete the path once; a mismatch says what to check.

  3. 3

    TraceLog watches it every day

An alert names the days a step stopped arriving.

What is missing, what changed and what came after

Your purchase_completed rate fell in one segment — Channel: Paid social — 31 fewer sessions reached purchase_completed than the baseline rate would have produced over 3,140 sessions.

Incomplete days, named instead of counted

When a step stops arriving, TraceLog hides the figures that count it over those days and names the days instead.

    Where your conversion changed

Compare it by channel, campaign or device across periods. With enough traffic and history, TraceLog alerts you to what fell.

  • Every plan

What you changed, and what came after

Record what you changed on an alert. TraceLog puts what it observed afterwards beside it; the order alone proves no cause.

TraceLog checks its own record and nothing beyond it

What it tells you

  • Which step stopped arriving, and since when.
  • Which TraceLog figures are incomplete.
  • When the fault is TraceLog's own.

What it does not tell you

  • Why it happened.
  • What to do: what you change is your decision.
  • Whether GA4, Meta or Google Ads received their data.

Answered before you start

How do I install it?

With a snippet on your site. For Shopify or WooCommerce, write to us: the app and plugin are not in their directories yet.

Does TraceLog replace GA4?

No. TraceLog runs alongside GA4, Meta and Google Ads as an independent control. It does not inspect, repair or reconcile their data. It does tell you how many conversions reached it from the server alone and not from the browser. You see it on Shopify, on WooCommerce, or when your server confirms the conversion.

How much traffic do I need?

The free plan is enough to know whether your TraceLog figures are missing data. On a paid plan, detecting a fall takes 1,000 sessions in the week it compares and five weeks of data. A single channel or campaign needs more. Below that, TraceLog stays quiet rather than guessing.

What happens if I go over 10,000 sessions?

TraceLog keeps capturing the declared conversion path without sampling. At the limit, alerts, answers and the explorer pause.

Does TraceLog use cookies? Where does the data live?

The capture code sets no tracking cookie. After consent, one session identifier lives in the visitor's browser storage. This site sets one cookie, only to remember your language. Conversion data lives in the EU.
